i love earrings. ayoko yung simple na stud earrings lang, well, except kung extra ordinary yung pagka stud earring nya. i love dangling earrings. what i love most are large, bold, beaded earrings. yung parang pang gypsy. siguro i got it from my nanay lola. she loves clip earrings with bold designs and really huge fancy earrings. back when i was in high school, i'd wear her clip earrings to any event in my school. when i was small, i remember going through her jewelries when she comes home from canada to visit us. she wouldn't give anything to me because she said i was still a child and the jewelries i should wear should be pang bata lang. although she wouldn't give them to me, she would let me borrow them and try them on. when i reached high school, she began giving me fancy earrings. she said i'm a grown up na.
one downside about me wearing fancy earrings is, i'm allergic to them. it doesn't have to be just earrings. i'm allergic to plated bracelets, necklaces, and rings. i'd get rashes on my ears, arms, neck and fingers. basta, anywhere kung saan meron plated na jewelry. i got it from my mom. she's also allergic to them. pati yung sister ko allergic din sa kanila. good thing for my mom, she doesn't wear really chunky earrings or bracelets. before my mom left for canada, she'd wear just a pair of medium-sized pearl earrings to work. other than her wedding ring, her arms and neck are naked. the only time she'd change her earrings and put on a bracelet is when she attends a special occasion and she has to get dressed for it.
well, as for my sister, it would be a miracle if she wears a pair. but, when we were smaller, we used to have matching sets of earrings. and all of our jewelries were given to us by our ninangs. and nothing in it was fancy.
siguro, when i started growing up, i saw the jewelries my nanay lola wears and i became fascinated with them. since i have allergies, what i'd do now is i wear them and take them off as soon as i come home. it seemed to be working for me kase i've been wearing a few beaded jewelries, and sure as hell they're not burning a hole in my pocket. the only thing i couldn't really wear are necklaces.
i saw these pictures online because i was looking for extra ordinary jewelries na maganda na pwede sa everyday clothes. and when i saw them, i remembered na these were the earrings i've been looking for for the longest time. i have a lot of earrings at home, but these are what i wanted so much, eversince i saw the hunchback of notre dame.
next time, when i go to st. francis, i'd check out the jewelries and the beads there.
