don't worry..he doesn't bite..well, sometimes..hehe..

trip to evangelista and cartimar

the morning after alumi's christening, peepee and i woke up early to go to evangelista to look for miguelito's mags. we didn't know where it was exactly but we were able to find it easily.
first stop..
big-a auto tech. enterprises.
peepee was offered 14,000 for the mags. i think they were original mags. he didn't like them
comags trading had none to offer..
same thing with beñados auto kalikot and general merchandise corporation. they had none to offer us.
then we went to master fix enterprises and peepee was offered 15,000 for a set. he didn't like them too..we then went to princess tire supply. we found something but peepee siad he is a bit uncomfortable with it since it's not branded, and it was locally made. the box didn't even have anything printed on it.
the last store we went to is wheel haus marketing. of course, we didn't find anything.after not finding anything, we then decided to go to cartimar to buy chocobie's food. it's been a while since he has last eaten and i bet he is hungry.
we went there the same day that veron and her brothers went but we didn't see each other kase she said they went there early in the morning, while we got there around noon.

finally, we were able to find something for chocobie. it wasn't a feast, but i think it will be enough for him. we'll just buy him another one sometime when we go back to cartimar.peepee called this his last supper because it was eating when we bought it.

alumi janae's christening

baby alumi was christened on march 21, 2009 at san miguel parish church. reception followed at shangri-la restaurant in quezon city.
i'm a proud ninang! hehe. finally, ang dami ko na inaanak!!
the ceremony started at 11 am and we were supposed to be in the church by 10:45am. peepee and i left the office at 9am and we went to metrowalk first to check bigbert's kung pwede magpa car wash. pwede daw, kaso pang seventh daw kame. we don't have all morning to wait for our turn, so we said no na lang. on our way home, we stopped by auto spa in shaw blvd. (in front of toyota shaw) and had miguelito washed for Php120.
i still prefer that miguelito is washed by the people at bigbert's. miguelito always comes out shiny after he was washed at bigbert's.
when we got home, we only got a few minutes to spare before the ceremony started. so, i had a (really) quick shower and i put make up on in less than 5 minutes! whahaha...amazing race ba ito?!
since i am a ninang, i was not able to get a picture of the ceremony. all the pictures in the ceremony are on peepee's camera.
so, after the ceremony, we went to the reception. imagine this...miguelito, who only seats 8 people max, including the driver, made room for a whopping 12 people!!! the people inside were: me, peepee, his mom, dad, tita kris, tita cristy, 2 mamang photographers, aileen's mom and kc, jason, and giro.
they served:

fried chicken, lumpia, yang chow fried rice, white musroom and beans something, and chow mein

sweet and sour meatballs. i like the sauce and the huge chunks of zucchini
other pics i took..

spiders

whoever created the nursery rhyme eensie weensie spider is retarded. earlier this morning, when i took a bath, i saw this huge (as in!) spider on the wall of the bathroom. it freaked me out a bit because it was the size of my palm (more or less). so, this gigantor was on the wall doing nothing, and i kept an eye on it because it might jump on me. and then it moved. it moved from the left side of the wall up to the right end of it. ang lakas ng loob. i just didnt have the guts to spray water on it kase nga baka tumalon saken. i swear, it was freaky. i was the only one downstairs and peepee hasn't come downstairs yet, so technically i was alon. it was around 12:15 this morning and i didn't want to wake any one else in case i needed to scream. hehe..
so, it walked to near the bathroom window, and i almost breathed a sigh of relief kase kala ko lalabas na sha e. tough luck. naninilip pa e. pumasok ulit ng bathroom and then it perched on top of the bathroom's curtain rod. ganda noh?
by this time, i was really rushing to finish taking a bath. i was not able to completely dry my hair and wipe my face with the towel kase baka pag tanggal ko ng towel makita ko nagtatarzan na papunta saken e.
so, i went out of the bathroom with my hair dripping all over my clothes. i tucked my very sloppy hair inside my shirt so the floor wont get wet, then i went upstairs and woke peepee up. i told him about the spider but when he finished taking a bath he said wala na yung spider.
so, i guess boy yung gigantor na spider kase ako lang yung nabosohan nya e..hehe..
scary!

back to back hbo movies

last sunday, peepee and i saw i am legend and dead silence. it was shown on hbo sunday night starting at 9pm.

* finally, i was able to complete the full i am legend movie. i was only able to see the first part of it everytime it was shown on hbo. either, i was doing something else, or there was something else better to watch than this.

* peepee also said badtrip daw yung ending so i did not bother watching it

* it was sad how sam (the german shepherd) died. it was like she kept her promise to marley to protect will smith. aaawww...

* yung gulat factor nya ang laki ha.

* peepee was right, he could've just thrown the grenade on the door crack. he could've been with ana and ethan to the survivor colony if he was not suicidal.

* it wasn't scary as hell, but it was freaky.

* makes you want to take a second look at your dolls and check their eyes out. hehe..

* did i say freaky?!

* moral lesson?! whatever happens, don't scream.

* another moral lesson? don't be too observant. tactless perhaps. it may kill you.

5th dialysis at usth

thanks to coach berns because he allowed me to go on early out. my dad and i had to be at ust hospital way before 4pm so he could have his dialysis session. it's his 5th and he has another session on friday.
we got the dialysis center in ust a few minutes before 3pm. after we have settled down in the waiting area, i rushed to the maxicare coordinator in the 5th floor of the medical arts building. i was told they only accept approvals until 2pm, so the secretary told me to go to the 6th floor for the other maxicare coordinator. i took the stairs because i didn't want to wait for the elevator (which were a bit too slow). good thing i used the stairs. if not, i wouldn't have made it. the secretary told me they only accept approvals until 3pm. i checked my phone, it was 3:02pm (sitel time). she said i was a bit late. i told her i came straight from the officew. she agreed to sign the request sheet, then she just told me to go to the credit and collections window to have the referral form stamped. the credit and collections window was directly below the dialysis center, which was on the main hospital building. haay, so, i had to go to the main building again to have the form stamped and i then went upstairs to the dialysis center ang submitted the referral form to the nurse. i then went back to the waiting area and sat. i have only been sitting for like, less than ten minutes when the nurse called us. it's time for my dad's dialysis, so we went inside and prepared for the session, which lasted four hours.
after it started, i went downstairs to buy lunch (it was 4pm and i haven't eaten lunch yet). i bought tuna sisig from ricecapades, and a bottle of water from the stall across it. i bought chicken nuggets (what else?!) for my dad.

sorry, i was so hungry i almost forgot to take a picture. hehe..

miguelito's got something new

the morning after kenneth's birthday (sunday), peepee and i went to banawe to buy matting for miguelito.

the one on the left is our new matting. the one on the right is how banawe ave. looks like on sunday.

kenneth's birthday

last saturday, peepee and i went to katkat's house in bacood. it was her husband's birthday celebration. we ate spaghetti, fried lumpia, and roasted chicken. peepee and the others drank beer, while i drank coke. fine, i had a shot or two, but i was sober. peepee and i bought kenneth a chocolate roll and we also bought a candle (yung pang brownout) para masaya birthday nya..hehe..
ayun oh, birthday boy!!!

love you forever

my mom sent us a book. it's called love me forever. at first i thought it was a children's book because of the front page illustration. my mom asked us to read it. i did, and it was a very touching story about a mom's love for her child. i don't know if a copy of it is available here in the philippines, but if one is available, i would recommend it to anyone.

crybaby..

waaahhh!!!!
it's been two days na i go to work alone. peepee's sick. he has migraine and the doctor advised him to go rest for two days. at least i get to go to work with him tomorrow. yeah!!! in all fairness, he went to work for 3 days without me last week because i was with my dad at the hospital.

my mom's birthday

today is my mother's birthday. sadly, we were unable to prepare anything because my dad and i were at ust the entire day for his opthalmologist appointment and his dialysis session. a few minutes before his dialysis session ended, wiz called me up and said that our cousin (kuya edwin - technically, we call him lolo edwin because he is our oldest cousin) is at home to visit dad. i guess he heard about what happened. i told him that we will be coming home in a few minutes since his dialysis session has almost ended. so he said they'll just wait for us to arrive. then, a nfew minutes right after i spoke to him, wiz called me again and said that they will just fetch us there in the hospital.
when we got home, kuya edwin asked us to order pizza for mom's birthday. wiz ordered ny finest from yellow cab (again). he told us to make it two orders of ny finest. i ate just a slice. i'm tired from all the walking i did at ust to submit the requests for a maxicare referral..so tired!

chronic kidney disease

defined as a progressive loss of the renal function. The symptoms of worsening kidney function are unspecific, and might include feeling generally unwell and experiencing a reduced appetite.
my dad's condition was asymptomatic, which basically means that he was experiencing no symptoms at all. it started when he had a routine check up for his asthma at ust. the pulmonologist (Dr. Patrick Moral) checked his blood pressure and noted that it was a bit too high. fearing he may have high blood, the doctor ordered a blood test done. that was april last year. so, we had it done and when he saw the results, he referred us to an internist (a nephrologist) to have it checked. he said my dad's creatinine was way above the normal levels. so, we went to Dra. Elizabeth Roasa and when she saw the results, she ordered another cbc tests, and some other test. when she saw the new results, she asked whether my dad has diabetes, or if he has high blood. i didn't think he has hiogh blood since we always monitor his bp at home. for diabetes, he didn't have it because we also had his glucose checked. so, she told me that my dad has Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease. she said that if we didn't have him dialysed, the condition will become worse. since my mom isn't here, i cannot make any decisions in her behalf. so, we called her and we told her about the diagnosis. she refused to have him dialysed because a fistula had to be inserted in his veins. she thought that it may hurt him and she also said that once a dialysis was started, it is a continuous process and the only way to stop it is to undergo a kidney transplant. so, we told dra. roasa my mom's decision, and she referred us to another nephrologist at st. luke's. we went there and we met Dra. Alicia Baldonado. she reviewed more tests and she also recommended a dialysis because of dad's creatinine levels. we asked if there are other alternatives to delay the dialysis. she said we can try medication first. so, every month, we go to dra. baldonado's clinic so we could monitor his creatinine levels.
my dad went through a lot of tests, renal panel, ulrtrasound, a lot of blood tests, glucose tests, and urinalysis. he was given a special diet. for some reason, his creatinine levels weren't going down.
so he went on medication for almost a year. then just this month, he was given medication that was supposed to boost his hemoglobin levels. it was injectible, and we were told the first shot was supposed to be given by his doctor. so, my sister was supposed to go with him to dra. baldonado's clinic, but then my brother told me that dad vomited while he was preparing to go to the hospital. we rushed him to the emergency room in ust hospital last tuesday afternoon and his doctor in st. luke's told us to immediately confine him. we were told we shouldn't delay the dialysis any more. we had to make the decision within 24 hours. we had to call mom right after she woke up. we were told that if we did not give any consent for the dialysis, they couldn't do anything about dad's condition.
so we decided that almost a year of medication is enough since it wasn't improving his condition.he was confined on march 10, my brother's birthday. he had to celebrate his birthday on my dad's hospital bed. he ordered yellow cab new york's finest. ny finest (with extra cheese) for us..
chicken nuggets for dad
since my dad couldn't eat pizza, my brother ordered mcdonald's chicken nuggets for him.
he was confined on march 10 and since his hemoglobin level was too low, he went through a blood transfusion. just a bag of blood was used.the following day (march 11) a procedure was done on the operating room. a catheter was inserted into his mjor vein in his neck. it is supposed to make the dialysis easier. they called it hemodialysis.then in the afternoon, his first dialysis session was started. we went to the ust dialysis center to have it done.

this was my dad during his first dialysis session. the tube close to the monitor is the filter which is used to filter the blood coming out of his body.

the one on the left is the filtered blood going back to his body, while the one on the right is the unfiltered blood that goes out of it.

organized mess

i so love my Aldo bag. it's moss green and it's leather. it's large with a total of seven pockets for my small things. of all the bags i own/ed, this is the most overused bag. it's close to retiring age (hehe..). i've been using it for quite some time now (give or take 3 years). the bag is great, but sadly, though i have to replace it soon enough. mejo nasisira na yung inseam kase i put so much stuff inside, namely: my medium-sized makeup kit, my wooden comb (which is also big compared to other combs), tissues we take from the office (little larcenist! hehe..), my jar of lotion, 3 coin purses, my rather huge wallet, a fan (for hot days), ketchup sachets from mcdo (larcenist talaga), company ids, some medicines (paracetamol, eye drops, hemostan for peepee, and arcoxia/serc for head ache), some bits and pieces of paper for our notes, a little notebook for more notes, and some scrunchies for my hair. sometimes, i also put my jacket inside, a water bottle, the kodak digicam peepee and i use, and our baunan. jampacked talaga!

yesterday, peepee and i went to the mall to have alumi's christening invites printed. when he checked the odometer, this is what he saw:
